Studio Courtesies and Policies
|
- Please turn off all cell phones and beepers during class.
- Interaction between students and parents is always encouraged. However, please socialize with other parents before and after class.
- Be prompt in bringing and picking up your child. Make sure your child has gone to the bathroom before class.
- Please notice your childs attention span and do not plan to arrive too early for class.
- Bring your child to the classroom. There are other things going on in the building and other people milling around. Also, please meet your child at the classroom at the end of class.
- Tuition, materials and registration fees are payable in full at the first class or according to the terms on the registration form.
- Our bank charges us for returned checks. A $20 charge will be made for returned checks.
- Each teacher will hand out a schedule of classes for her classes. If, however, a class has to be missed because of emergency, sickness, weather or some other unforeseen reason, the missed class will be made up at a time agreeable to all class members.
- We will follow the inclement weather policies for the public schools. If they are closed for snow and there is really snow, so are we. We do have a SNOW CODE with WFMY TV, we are listed as Bartis' Creative Studio under retail businesses. If there is no actual inclement weather, we will have class. Feel free to call if you are unclear. 294-0500.
- Please follow your teachers guidelines for classroom discipline. Running, shouting or displaying harmful behavior towards other children is not allowed. If a child is disruptive and difficult to control in class or poses a safety hazard to himself or other children, the teacher will meet with the parents to determine whether the child should continue in class. Please do not physically discipline your child in front of the class. It is appropriate, however, to take your child out of the classroom until your child is ready to come back.
- Visitors: We are thrilled to have both parents attend classes with children, however, we cannot accommodate more people per family on a regular basis. Please limit visitors to two at a time, i.e. grandma and grandpa. As a courtesy, please let your teacher know that you plan to bring a visitor so that we dont accidently end up with too many people in the room at one time.
- Siblings: Non-mobile infant siblings are allowed to attend classes with older siblings if they remain quiet and are kept restrained in an infant seat or stroller. In order to insure the best possible learning environment for each family, mobile siblings may not attend classes. Siblings are welcome to attend the last fifteen minutes of IMAGINE THAT! or the last 10 minutes of Young Child with the Parent. Please do not allow siblings to be disruptive during sharing time.
- Make-up classes: You have chosen a class time for your child. We are unable to allow children to switch class times. Please make every effort to attend class. In the event of an emergency that causes you to miss your regularly scheduled class, you will be allowed to make up two classes. Please call the teacher whose class you wish to attend to schedule your makeup.
- Tuition and fees are non-refundable once class begins.
- Except for Village, please leave all things at home, ie...bottles, pacifiers, toys, food, drinks, blankies, pet Iguanas, etc.
- Please call us with questions. We are used to singing songs and explaining games over the phone. If you cannot reach one of us, try another. We are all licensed and trained in all curricula. We will do our best to answer your questions! We must ask that you keep these phone numbers for your personal use only. Stephanie Bartis, 294-0500; Robin Gentile, 297-9065; Melanie Kennedy, 273-3363 x2007; and Erin Lopp, 784-8760.
