ORFF is a music education method based on
the work of composer/educator Carl Orff.
Orff's ideals were developed from his educational experiences where speech, movement, song and instrument playing were intergrated. Through being active and creative, children learn. The goal is for the child to become musically independent and have the confidence, skills, and desire to create music.

Inspired by authentic multi-cultural instruments, ORFF instruments are appropriate for young musicians. Students will play barred instruments as well as xylophones, metalophones, and glockenspiels such as woods, metals, and drums. Students will also play recorder.

"Great educators from Froegel to Piaget
have always said that teaching was possible
only of it addressed a child's power at the
right time in the right place."

Walter, Orff ReEchos
